Unicoi County Highway Department Chandler Cove Precast Bridge Deck Specification Requirements \b Precast material supplier shall be on the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) approved precast material producer list and meet all TDOT QC/QA requirements. \b Precast material supplier shall be a certified National Precast Concrete Association (NPCA) producer. \b Bridge unit design shall be for HL-93 loading. Material supplier shall provide Tennessee professional engineer stamped shop drawings \b and calculations utilizing LRFD design software prior to purchase order. \b Precast concrete mix design shall be minimum 5000 psi. \b Steel shall be epoxy coated grade 60 deformed bar that meets ASTM A615 and TDOT requirements for precast items with 0'-2' cover. \b Precast bridge deck dimensions shall be as shown in the plans by Mattern & Craig Engineers. Six sections each of 41'-9" length x 3' width x 2' thick. Formed shear keyway between all interior units for installer to fill with 5000 psi non-shrink grout. All units shall be fabricated to accept post tensioned lateral tie. \b Material supplier shall provide all accessories for component installation including grout for keyways, post tension hardware and installation equipment, guardrail cast-in inserts with bolts and washers, bead drip rails on both precast end sections, and elastomeric bearing pads for both abutments delivered to the Unicoi County jobsite. Unicoi County Highway Department to provide guardrail posts, beam and installation. \b Material supplier shall provide on-site technical assistance during installation. \b Unicoi County Highway Department reserves the right to conduct any field tests or inspections that it may deem advisable to ensure that the goods and services conform to these specifications.
