Demolition, site work, paving, renovation and addition to a mixed-use development in Ames, Iowa. Completed plans call for the renovation of a playground / park / athletic field; for the addition of a 13,900-square-foot industrial development; for site work for a industrial development; for the demolition of a industrial development; sidewalk / parking lot; for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot; and water / sewer project.

This project includes: A new cold storage building for storage of equipment and vehicles of approximately 5,000 square feet which consists of 6 storage bays with one drive-thru bay. A larger cold storage building of approximately 8,900 square feet which includes 3 additional storage bays which is a bid alternate. Additional project scope includes interior renovation to the north existing building of a training room, an office and two restrooms. Site improvements include site paving, landscaping, site utilities, and the relocation of an existing bulk water filling station. Work includes civil, landscaping, architectural, structural and mechanical, electrical, limited plumbing, and fire suppression systems. Building construction is a pole building with exterior metal siding and metal roof with sectional overhead doors at each bay for the cold storage building. The interior renovation consists of a new mezzanine access stair, replacement of interior finishes, and updated MEP systems. Written questions will be accepted until 5:00 p.m. local time on June 2, 2025. Each bid shall include the bid security as defined in Code of Iowa Section 26.8 and as specified in the Instructions to Bidders. Said bid security shall be based on an amount equal to at least 5% of the bid amount. Each successful bidder shall be required to furnish a corporate surety bond in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of its contract price. Said bond to be issued by a responsible surety approved by the City Council and shall guarantee the faithful performance of the contract and the terms and conditions therein contained and shall guarantee the prompt payment of all material and labor, and protect and save harmless the City from claims and damages of any kind caused by the operations of the contract and shall also guarantee the maintenance of the improvement in good repair for a period of one (1) year from and after the completion and acceptance by the City. After award and approval of contract and performance bond, work on this contract shall substantially completed no later than January 14, 2026. The City does hereby reserve the right to reject any or all bids, to waive informalities, and to enter into such contract, or contracts, as it shall deem to be in the best interest of the City.
