Renovation of an educational facility in Wauchula, Florida. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
Furnishing all labor and material and performing all work necessary for the construction of the fire alarm system replacement at Hardee Senior High School, 830 Altman Road, Wauchula, Florida, 33873. Each bid shall be accompanied by a Bid Bond and shall be written on the form of Bid Bond satisfactory to the Board or a Cashier's Check in an amount no less than five percent (5%) of the total amount of the base bid as a guarantee that the Bidder shall, if awarded the contract, enter into a written contract with the Board, satisfactory in form to the Board, containing a liquidated damages clause, requiring Worker's Compensation and Public Liability Insurance as required by the Board. The successful bidder shall give a Performance and Payment Bond satisfactory in form to the Board in the full amount of the Contract price within ten (10) days after acceptance of the bid by the Board. Bidder must be a licensed Florida Contractor ("Contractor") unless otherwise set forth in these bid documents. The Board reserves the right to reject any and all bids received and to waive any and all irregularities in regard thereto. Unsealed bids, e.g., fax transmissions, will not be accepted. No bids may be withdrawn after the scheduled closing time for receipt of bids for a period of thirty (30) days. The Board will not request documentation of, consider, or give preference based on the vendor's social, political or ideological interests All bidding contractors shall attend the pre-bid conference in order to have a valid bid proposal considered for this project. Bid Proposals from Contractors not in attendance of the mandatory pre-bid conference will be considered unresponsive. Bid tabulations with recommended awards shall be posted for review by interested parties at the Hardee County School Board office and online. Failure to file a protest within the time prescribed by Section 120.53(5), Florida Statutes, shall constitute a waiver of proceedings under Chapter 120, Florida Statutes. The Hardee County School District (District) shall have the option of using the District's purchasing card (from Bank of America) to make purchases, partial payments and/or draws under the contract or purchase order. The District's purchasing card is similar to a credit card in that there will be a small fee which the contractor will be required to pay and the contractor will receive payment directly from the card issuer rather than the District. Any and all fees related to this type of payment are the responsibility of the contractor. In no case will the District allow increases in prices to offset credit card fees paid by the contractor or any other charges incurred by the contractor, unless specifically stated in the terms of the contract or purchase order. Payment through the District purchasing card is a method of payment, not a method of contract award. Procedural requirements for awards of contracts and orders must still be followed. *The value for this project is based on a financial range.
