The Texas Department of State Health Services is moving forward with the construction of a new hospital facility in Terrell at their existing campus. To allow for alternate routes for construction vehicles and materials, the City of Terrell is seeking contractors to provide pricing for the construction of a "CONSTRUCTION ENTRANCE" roadway located on City of Terrell property (see Attached "A" for property description). This route is incredibly beneficial as it will allow contractors to keep all construction traffic out of the adjoining neighborhoods while also allowing separation between hospital operations and construction operations. This road will be heavily traveled by construction personnel, large equipment, concrete trucks, 18-wheelers, etc., throughout the duration of the project. DESCRIPTION OF WORK - 1. Remove all trees and brush along the drive +/- 15' both sides. 2. Remove existing gravel and install +/- 3' to 4' of select fill with a 1:1 slope on the sides. 3. Install Tensar Hx5.5 geogrid 4. Install 10" of crushed concrete or flexbase to provide a 24' wide driving surface. NOTE: Manhole location and city lines will be addressed on-site with selected vendor. The City reserves the right to reject any and all submittals and to waive any informality in submittals received, deemed to be in the best interest of the City.
