Renovation of a laboratory facility in Upton, New York. Completed plans call for the renovation of a laboratory facility.
Brookhaven Science Associates (BSA) is issuing a Request for Quote (RFQ) for floor leveling and epoxy coating per the BNL provided statement of work (SOW). BSA invites you to participate in accorance with the RFQ letter and all supporting attachments. This requirement has been posted on the SAM.gov website under solicitation number RFQ-451845. The proposal due date is September 19, at 5:00 p.m. EDT. Any questions concerning this RFQ must be addressed via email to the attention of Ben Furlow (bfurlow@bnl.gov). The Offeror shall provide all necessary labor, materials, and equipment to provide the needed services detailed in the statement of work and all other attachments as outlined in Enclosure 1, Draft Contract 451845 The Contractor shall be responsible for the following: 1. Prepare the existing concrete floor to be leveled by scarifying the entire area as shown in BSA drawing SK-PD-CDI-2000. The Contractor shall mitigate dust generation using a HEPA vacuum and portable clean tent (provided by BSA). 2. The Contractor shall measure the floor elevation with a precision water level at points on a 6-inch grid pattern. At each point on the grid the Contractor shall place pins cut to the exact height that the levelled surface will be at that point. 3. Laticrete levelling grout (or equivalent - subject to review and approval by BSA) shall be mixed and poured to the top of the pins which remain in the grout. 4. Once the grout is cured the entire surface shall be prepared/scarified to prep for the epoxy coat. The Contractor shall mitigate dust generation using a HEPA vacuum and portable clean tent (provided by BSA). 5. Upon completion of preparation of the levelled floor surface, the contractor shall apply two coats of primer, then a 2mm epoxy coating layer of Stonlux S1 epoxy flooring system. 6. Contractor shall bring their own tools to the site to perform the measuring of floor elevation, shot-blasting, planetary grinding, mixing, pumping and spreading of levelling grout, application of primer and epoxy coating. 7. Contractor shall clean up all waste materials at the end of each day and dispose in a trash in dumpster provided by contractor. 8. Contractor shall be responsible for hauling away and disposal of all waste materials. 9. The Contractor shall warranty the levelled floor materials and workmanship for one year from the completion of the contract. 10. The Contractor shall provide a Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) using the provided template for BSA review 1 week after award of contract. Contractor workers shall complete required training for working at NSLS-II per the JHA The Coherent Diffractive Beamline (CDI) beamline at NSLS-II requires a floor surface flatness of +/- 1.5 mm over full range of the dashed line section shown below, in the newly constructed satellite endstation building (SEB) to allow installation of the experimental Two Detector Motion System (TDMS). The scope of this Statement of Work is to first level the area defined below by building up with concrete approximately 1/4 in to 1 in thick until the required flatness is achieved, and then apply an epoxy coating to protect the levelled surface from wear. The concrete layer shall be a minimum of 1/4 in thick at the high point in the existing floor.
