Construction, Shipping and Installation of Two 35m X 8m Concrete Floating Dolphins Required for the New Heriot Bay and Whaletown Berth The two concrete floating dolphins are expected to be constructed offsite at the Contractor's facility. One floating dolphin shall be delivered to Heriot Bay ferry terminal located at 668 Hotel Road, Quadra Island, BC. The second floating dolphin shall be delivered to Whaletown ferry terminal located at 325 Harbour Road, Whaletown, BC. The Work shall consist of but not necessarily be limited to the following: Construction of concrete pontoons Fabrication and installation of all steel work cast in or attached to the concrete Installation of element fender assemblies including fabrication of steel plates (BC Ferries will provide UHMW face plates, element rubber fender bodies along with proprietary fender washers) Supply and installation of navigation lights, wind socks, reflectors Buoyancy and stability adjustments Storage and launch (storage as required) of the floating dolphins as agreed by BC Ferries Towing of the Heriot Bay floating dolphin to Heriot Bay ferry terminal Towing of the Whaletown floating dolphin to Whaletown ferry terminal Coordinating and working with the marine general contractors, hired by BC Ferries separately, to secure the floating dolphins to the mooring plies onsite with support. Assuming field equipment will be provided and operated by marine general contractors.
