The work to be done consists of furnishing all materials, equipment and labor necessary to construct the Diamond Branch Water and Sewer Improvements, consisting of the following approximate quantities: Division 1: Pump Replacement Includes the demolition of the existing pumps, motors, controls, electrical and associated pump station piping with the replacement of new pumps, motors, controls, electrical and associated pump station piping. Division 2: Water Line Replacement Includes the replacement of the existing 8" water line along Diamond Branch Road with approximately 31 LF of 8" PVC water line and 235 LF of 10" HDPE water line by horizontal directional drill. Division 3: Force Main Replacement Includes the replacement of the existing 6" sewer force main along Diamond Branch Road with approximately 20 LF of 6" PVC sewer force main and 240 LF of 8" HDPE sewer force main by horizontal directional drill. Bidders must deposit security with all bids. Security shall be in the form of a certified check or bid bond made payable to the Owner and shall be for an amount equal to not less than five percent (5%) of the amount of the bid. Provisions of the security shall be as described in the Information for Bidders. A one hundred percent (100%) payment bond and performance bond will be required. Contractor must provide fire, extended coverage, vandalism, and malicious mischief insurance equal to the actual value of the insured property during construction. No bidder may withdraw the bid within 90 days after the actual date of the opening and thereof. These bid documents will be modified only by written addenda. The Owner reserves the right to waive any informalities or to reject any or all bids.
