Site work and paving for a civil project in New Ulm, Minnesota. Working plans call for site work for a road / highway; water / sewer project; and for paving for a road / highway.
As of October 24, 2024, per owner, the contract was recently executed and work will begin in a few weeks. The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR), Operations Services Division, and Parks and Trails Division requests proposals from consulting firms to provide final plans, specification along with technical services during construction for reconstructing approximately 9.8 miles of bituminous surfaced pedestrian trail used for hiking, biking, in-line skating, accessible outdoors (electric wheelchairs allowed), cross country skiing and snowshoeing. The scope includes reviewing the existing hydrology/hydraulics to incorporate into the design modifications for improving the drainage along the trail corridor. Several sections of trail have flooded in recent years and will require adjustments to the alignment vertically to prevent flooding of the trail. The term of this contract is anticipated to be from Notice to Proceed (assuming mid-September) to June 30, 2025, with the option to extend up to an additional 2 years in increments determined by the State.
