This project will consist of Smoke Testing of approximately +-37,000 l.f. of sanitary sewer pipe ranging in sizes from 6,'' 8", 12", 15" & 18" and approximately 115 manhole inspections within the City of LaCoste. Each bid must be accompanied by a bid bond in the amount of 5% of the bid issued by an acceptable surety. A certified check or bank draft made payable to the City of La Coste may be submitted in lieu of the Bid Bond. Bids must be submitted on forms furnished. No bid may be withdrawn for 60 days after the above scheduled closing time for receipt of bids. The City of La Coste reserves the right to waive any informalities in the bid and to reject any or all bids. Bids may be held by the City of La Coste for a period not to exceed 60 days from the date of the bid opening for the purpose of reviewing the bids and investigating the bidder's qualifications prior to the contract awards. Time of Completion and Liquidated Damages: Bidder must agree to commence work on or before a date to be specified in a written "Notice to Proceed" with the Owner and to fully complete the project within __SEVENTY FIVE (75) CONSECUTIVE calendar days thereafter. Bidder must agree also to pay as liquidated damages the sum of TWO HUNDRED FIFTY DOLLARS ($250.00) for each consecutive calendar day thereafter until completion of the project. In the event the quantity of work is reduced, this time requirement will not decrease. Should the Owner award both the Base Bid and any Additive Alternate Bids, additional days will be added to the Contract time.
