Site work for a detention facility in La Grange, Kentucky. Completed plans call for site work for a detention facility.

Electrical work includes power and control wiring for new entry and exit sliding gates at Security #1, along with a wireless intercom system to Central Control for both gates. New high security gates 30A and 32A at the existing vehicular sallyport near control tower 12 shall also be wired for power, control and accessories as shown in the drawings. Existing Gate 30 shall have the operator replaced. Sallyport gates shall be interlocked with existing Gate 3 to the main secure compound. Site work includes approximately 2,254 lf of new fencing is to be installed around the western portion of the secure perimeter. The new fencing will be parallel to the existing outer perimeter fence. The new fence will be 10 tall with eight coils of razor wire. The new perimeter fence will also provide for two pedestrian gates to access the no mans land between the fences. The no mans land space between the fences will be receive 6-inches of KYTC crushed stone. At the main vehicular entrance to the secure perimeter two new 20 wide by 15tall vehicular slides gates will be installed with slide drivers controlled from tower 12. At the box security checkpoint on to the grounds of the facility two new 5 tall by 18 wide slide gates and slide drives will be installed. All bids shall be accompanied by a bid guarantee (in the form of a bid bond or certified check) of not less than five (5%) percent of the amount of the lump sum base bid. A 100% Performance Bond and a separate 100% Payment Bond shall be furnished by the successful bidder. All bonding and insurance requirements are contained in the Instructions to Bidders and/or General Conditions. Bonds should be executed by a surety company authorized to do business by the Kentucky Secretary of State and the Kentucky Department of Insurance within the Commonwealth of Kentucky. The Division of Engineering and Contract Administration, Commonwealth of Kentucky, reserves the right to reject all bids and to waive all informalities and/or technicalities where the best interest of the Commonwealth may be served. No bidder may withdraw his bid for a period of thirty (30) days after the date set for the opening of bids. Each demolition/renovation project must comply with Kentucky Division of Air Pollution Control Regulation 401 KAR 57:011. Failure to provide such documentation upon request shall result in disqualification of the bidder or contract termination. for the furnishing of all labor, materials, supplies, tools, appliances, equipment, services, etc., necessary for Fence Improvements, Luther Luckett Correctional Complex, Department of Corrections, LaGrange, Kentucky, as set forth in the specifications and as shown on the drawings prepared by Jimmy Piper, GRW, and approved by the Department for Facilities and Support Services of the Commonwealth of Kentucky and under the terms and conditions to this Request for Bid.
