Renovation of a detention facility in Columbus, Texas. Completed plans call for the renovation of a detention facility.

The Project consists of repairs to the steel plate walls at pipe chases, and the replacement of plumbing pipes, valves and other items, as defined and described in the Specifications and Drawings accompanying this Request for Proposals. The budget for this Project is $620,000.00. The Work consists of, but is not limited to: repair/replacement of steel plate walls at pipe chases behind cells, replacement of above-ground water and sewer piping in the pipe chases and replacement of valves and piping at detention plumbing fixtures in cells. Question Deadline 09/13/2024 1.01 SCOPE OF THE WORK A. The Work will consist of project management, material and equipment procurement, pre-construction logistics planning, selective demolition, cutting and patching, temporary construction, caulking and sealants, painting, detention steel plate wall repairs, removal and replacement of detention plumbing fixtures, plumbing repairs and replacement for jail repairs to the Colorado County Jail, Columbus, Texas. B. The work generally consists of removal of detention type stainless steel fixtures from cell/pipe chase walls; removing above-floor waste, vent, and pressure piping, and valves and controls in pipe chases; cutting and removing portions of existing steel cell/pipe chase walls that are rusted and damaged; installing and painting new steel plate wall inserts; painting interior of pipe chases; reinstalling existing plumbing fixtures and sealing with security sealant; installing new above-floor waste, vent, and pressure piping, with new valves, controls, and drain covers: and installing pipe insulation. C. Phasing of the work will be required to complete the project. Only one side of each pipe chase serving inmate housing areas may be taken out of operation at a time. Refer to drawings for pipe chase locations and layout. D. The work will be completed within a secure facility. All persons working in the area will be required to pass security checks. Tool inventory will be required. The specific work area will be in an inmate living or activity area. Access to the work area will be through secure spaces. E. Contractor shall be responsible for removal of all construction debris from building and site.
