Renovation of a military facility in Point Mugu NAWC, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 60,000-square-foot, two-story above grade military facility.
PM324 is an approximately 60,000 square feet two-story hangar with mechanical penthouse located in Naval Base Ventura County (NBVC), Point Mugu, California. Due to current wear from off-shore weather patterns and age, PM324 needs to undergo the exterior envelope renovation that includes repainting the exterior surfaces of the facility and replacing exterior doors/windows and exterior lighting fixtures. Option 1 will be used to bid separately for painting exposed steel trusses above the roof. The facility is directly in the path of all major Southern California Santa Anna wind and winter rain storms, causing the exterior paint to wear off. Exterior doors and frames are beyond life expectancy and have severe corrosion. Exterior windows have deteriorated from constant weather, East facing windows are exposed to constant wind and sun. Exterior lighting is at the end of its service life, requiring increasing maintenance and repairs. The scope of work is to repair cracks in exterior walls, paint the exterior facility, and replace exterior doors, windows, and exterior lighting fixtures. This will prolong the service life of PM324 and improve the safety of operations during nighttime maintenance. The DOR will be responsible for all facets in developing design/construction documents. The project will require bringing the renovated bay facility into compliance with current building codes, accessibility and life safety code criteria. The contractor /DOR will consult with PW FEAD and the customer identify security requirements, communications infrastructure, underground utilities infrastructure and project specific requirements. The disclosure of magnitude for this construction project is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. The Contractor shall be required to: (a) Commence work under the contract within 15 calendar days after the date the Contractor receives notice of award, (b) prosecute the work diligently, and (c) complete the entire work ready for use not later than 365 calendar days after commencement of worK .
