The contractor is responsible for supply, delivery, and installation of all materials. The contractor shall be responsible for contacting all utilities for line locations, if needed, prior to the commencement of any work. The contractor is responsible for developing and distributing a handout/flyer on their letterhead to local wastewater system users, impacted by the repair work. This is to be done 48 hours prior to commencement of said work. This notice must include dates of work, anticipated start time and anticipated date of completion for the repair works. The contractor is responsible for minimizing debris from repair works from entering the wastewater pipe. Three (3) wastewater manholes in the Town of Teulon's gravity sewer collection system require rung replacements, joint repairs between precast manhole riser sections, base bench replacement, and base bench joint repairs. Base benches are assumed to be approximately 1200mm diameter, and sewer mains are typically 10-12" diameter. Lids and risers are typically 24" diameter. After completion of repair works, the contractor shall provide a concise inspection report for each manhole repaired that includes a depth measurement from the manhole to channel bottom, the base bottom width/diameter, pipe diameters, and notes on concrete condition such as any observed defects. Contractors will be required to have a current and valid installer certification through the Onsite Wastewater Management Systems (OWMS) Program. Contractors will be responsible to comply with all applicable workplace safety requirements.
