The Federal Bureau of Prisons (FBOP) anticipates the need for a firm-fixed-price construction contract for a project entitled "Replace Roof FCI Low I" at the Federal Correctional Complex (FCC) Yazoo City located in Yazoo City, Mississippi. FCC Yazoo City is a federal correctional complex located at 2225 Haley Barbour Pkwy, Yazoo City, Mississippi 39194. The project consists of furnishing all equipment, materials, and labor for the flat roofing system replacement of one building that houses the Safety, personal services and Votech building. The total square footage of replacement roofing is 21,500 square feet. The contractor shall provide a roof assembly to meet the following requirements for a low slope roof system: See the Statement of Work/Specifications attachment for the complete requirements for the project. Roof system to meet or exceed applicable codes including but not limited to following: Minimum 60 mil membrane roofing system membrane with hot welded seams mechanically attached. Breaking Strength 220LBS ASTM D 751, grab method Elongation at Break 15%; ASTM D 751 Tearing Strength 551bf ASTM D 751 Cold Brittleness-40C, ASTM D 2137 Water Absorption 3% maximum, ASTM D 471 Liquid products shall be USDA Certified Biobased Products. System Requirements: Repair or replace Styrofoam boards that are damaged or compromised Install new insulation boards that are sloping towards nearest roof drain Install new metal coping, approximately 900 linear feet, coping shall be pre-finished 24 gauge metal coping with 35 year Kynar 500 paint finish Additional Requirements: Contractor must ensure roof is watertight at the end of each working day The contractor shall be responsible for removing the existing roofing including insulation, flashings, and metal trim. Flash all parapet walls up and over with the same system. Flash all penetrations per the manufacturer standards. The contractor will remove the existing and install a new aluminum certified lightning protection system to replace the existing one. Contractor to submit lightning protection layout shop drawings to the FBOP prior to fabrication or installation. Lighting shall comply with NFPA 780-2011. It will be the responsibility of the contractor to remove all debris from roof and remove from the grounds. It shall be the contractor's responsibility to obtain all measurements, and manufacturer's installation recommendations. The contract shall perform the work to not interfere with the FBOP's operations as minimal as possible. The FBOP will occupy the site during the entire construction period.
