Mitchell County, North Carolina is soliciting bids for site preparation for construction of buildings and structures to be located on the site of the new County Athletic Department baseball field. That site is a 5.966 acre parcel of real estate located at 301 Crimson Laurel Way, Bakersville, NC. Information necessary to bid on this project is available on the Mitchell County website. All bidders must be licensed general contractors having at least a limited license. All Bids must be accompanied by a cashiers check or certified check issued by an FDIC insured bank in the amount equal to 5% of the bid amount or by a bid bond in the same amount issued by a corporate surety authorized by the State of North Carolina to execute such bonds and payable to Mitchell County should the bidder be the low bidder and fail to execute a contract in accordance with its bid or fail to timely secure performance bond and payment bond in the full contract amount within 14 days after being awarded the contract. Each bidder shall also provide the following documents with its bid: 1. A copy of the current year contractors license issued by North Carolina 2. The bid should reflect only one amount, that being the total amount for completion of all tasks outlined in the Scope of Work including all labor and materials and other costs associated with the performance of the contract including liability insurance, workers compensation insurance, and other necessary regulatory charges and expenses.
