Reference Number 0000278264 Question Acceptance Deadline 2024/09/17 12:00:00 PM EDT 1. Comply with the Construction Manager's schedule of work. The Subcontractor must be readily available to commence all Works required by the Construction Manager at any time during the project, provided the Subcontractor is given, at minimum, one week of notice, from the completion of locates (if required). 2. Provide comprehensive snow clearing and deicing services at the OPSS Project Site Area (Marked in blue). Refer to Appendix H. 3. In areas where there are bike shares, the subcontractor is to maintain public access to bikes. Environmental 4. All copies of permits, licenses, approvals, certificates, and authorizations required by any governmental authority having jurisdiction over the work or the place of the work shall be submitted by the Subcontractor as required by the Subcontract Documents prior to starting any design work or fabrication of any part of equipment. 5. The Subcontractor will develop and execute the project specific environmental policies, plans and processes which are necessary for the conformance of their works to Ellis Don's Environmental Policy, and the project's specific Environmental Obligations and Specifications. The Subcontractor is responsible for ensuring their workers are aware of the environmental management plans and specifications and requirements that are applicable to their work and the importance of conformance. 6. Complete Ellis Don Environmental Orientation and Awareness Training prior to entering the project area. 7. Subcontractor is not to engage with the public and direct all inquiries to Ellis Don. . The Subcontractor shall not permit any excavated materials or other material to be imported to site and deposited off site without Ellis Don's written approval. All soil and excavated material stockpiles shall be stored at designated areas. Assume all soil is contaminated (nonhazardous exceeding Table 3.1 ICC). 9. Immediately report any unanticipated contamination or artifacts to the Ellis Don's Environmental Management Team 10. The Subcontractor shall prevent and clean mud tracking along Municipal and project roads. 11. Where stockpiles are permitted by EllisDon, all stockpiles to be graded to a 4:1 slope to prevent bird nesting. 12. Subcontractor shall meet all noise and vibration requirements City of Toronto Municipal Code Chapter 591 (Noise) and 514 (Vibration), as applicable. 13. Subcontractor shall ensure fuel is stored in accordance with regulatory requirements and designated areas with secondary containment and adequate spill prevention supplies. No fuel shall be stored within 30 meters of a waterbody. All spills must be reported to the Ellis Don Environmental Management Team and reports and documents provided to ensure the spill has been adequately remediated. 14. The Proponent shall undertake a detailed review of his proposed route of construction to plan access routes and fuelling areas. Refueling, hazardous material storage and maintenance of equipment shall not be undertaken in or adjacent to a watercourse or a storm sewer. Suitable fuelling, chemical storage and maintenance areas shall be established, and all maintenance, storage and fuelling will be conducted in these areas. The locations of such areas are subject to review by Ellis Don. Procedures for the interception and rapid clean up and disposal of spillages that do occur shall be submitted to Ellis Don for review prior to starting work. All materials required for clean- up (spill kits) of fuel and chemical fuel spillages shall be maintained and readily accessible on site in all active work areas. The exception of these fuelling locations requirements shall be generators, cranes, backhoes, or shovels which may be fuelled at other than the designated fuelling areas. However, no fuelling shall be carried out within thirty metres of any watercourse or storm sewer. 15. Any spills that may cause impairment to the natural environment must be immediately reported by the Subcontractor to Ellis Don and to the local Ministry of the Environment and Climate Change Spills Action Centre. All spills are required to be cleaned up immediately. Drip trays and secondary containment are required to be used during the handling and storage of hazardous chemicals on site. 16. Spill prevention strategies will be implemented on site during the following activities: a) Chemical fuel storage, handling and refueling. b) Equipment maintenance c) Hazardous material storage and use (including temporary storage and disposal of contaminated material) d) Concrete washout Official bid documents must be obtained from www.merx.com and bid submissions must be done through the Merx platform.
