Site work for a bridge / tunnel in Hendersonville, Tennessee. Completed plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel.

Bridge Faade Repairs Question Deadline 10/03/2024 All questions related to this Request for Proposals must be received electronically, at slock@hvilletn.org & pw@hvilletn.org, All questions received after said date will not be considered. If questions are received the city will post one addendum on the city website by 11:00 p.m. CST 10/7/2024 The City of Hendersonville does not discriminate based on race, color, or national origin in Federal or State sponsored programs, pursuant to Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (42 U.S.C. 2000d). Contractors are required to submit proposals that outline their approach to the following repair options for the bridges: Option 1. Repair or Reconstruct Existing Stonework: o Assess the existing stonework and provide options for either repairing damaged sections or reconstructing the facade to match the original design. o All stone materials used must match or closely match the existing materials and patterns. Any new stone or pattern must be approved by the city prior to installation. o Incorporate the use of metal lath or an appropriate anchoring system to securely fasten the stonework, ensuring structural integrity and long-term durability. o All repairs or reconstruction must maintain the aesthetic integrity of the bridge. o Portland cement grouting must be used for all stone joints. Type "S" is not to be used unless specifically approved by the city. o Environmental and safety measures must be in place to protect Drake's Creek and nearby areas during the repair process. Option 2. Remove Existing Stonework, Grind Down, and Paint with New Concrete Cap: o Carefully remove the existing stone facade and mortar without disturbing the structural elements of the bridge. o Install a metal lath or appropriate anchoring system to provide additional support before applying the concrete cap. o Grind down the surface to prepare it for painting. o Apply a new concrete cap and paint, ensuring a durable and visually appealing finish. o If any stone cap remains as part of the design, ensure the stone materials match the existing ones and use Portland cement grouting for all joints. Type "S" is not to be used unless specifically approved by the city. o Implement safety measures to protect workers and the public during stone removal and grinding operations. o Ensure no debris enters Drake's Creek, and all waste materials are properly disposed of or recycled. Option 3. Remove Existing Stonework and Provide Stamped Concrete or Stucco: o Remove the existing stone facade and mortar. o Install a metal lath or appropriate anchoring system to support the new facade material, whether stamped concrete or stucco, ensuring that it is securely fastened to the bridge structure. o If stamped concrete is used, the pattern and color must closely match the existing stone patterns and be approved by the city prior to the installation. o Portland cement grouting must be used for any remaining stonework. Type "S" is not to be used unless specifically approved by the city. o Ensure that the new facade is long-lasting and requires minimal maintenance. o Use environmentally friendly materials and processes, ensuring minimal environmental impact. o Implement appropriate safety measures during facade removal and installation, protecting workers and preventing harm to the environment. Option 4. Additional proposed options o Contractors can provide repair options not mentioned above for the city to consider.
