The project consists of streambank stabilization work within an approximately 1,200 LF section of the Oakwood Branch of Beauty Creek that is severely eroded. Construction will include earthwork and grading, installation of riprap cross vanes, seeding, and miscellaneous soil erosion and sediment control measures. Proposals shall be properly and completely executed on the Bid Form, and must be accompanied by an executed Indiana State Board of Accounts Form 96, confirmation that copies of Addenda were received (if issued), and satisfactory bid security. A certified or cashier s check payable to the Valparaiso City Utilities or a bid bond in an amount equal to five (5) percent of the bid amount must accompany each bid. All checks of unsuccessful bidders shall be returned to them by the City upon selection of successful bidder. The successful Bidder will be required to provide a Performance and Payment Bond each in the amount of one hundred (100) percent of the Contract amount. Any questions are due (3) days before bids are due. There will be no pre-bid meeting for this project. Contractors shall familiarize themselves with the field conditions and locations in preparation for their bids. The Utility Board reserves the right to reject any and all bids or to waive any informalities in the bidding, should the Board deem it to be in the public interest to do so. Question Deadline 10/03/2024 any prospective Bidder is in doubt as to the true meaning of any part of the Project Documents, he may submit a written request for clarification to the Engineer. The individual submitting the request shall be responsible for prompt delivery to the Engineer. To be given consideration, written requests must be received by the Engineer at least three (3) days prior to the date fixed for the opening of Bids.
