The Council shared feedback on desktop technology, the layouts for the Council Chambers and Work Session rooms, and the facility renaming. Upon completion of the project, the Addison Conference Centre will be renamed Addison Town Hall. The majority of the Finance Department will move into the current Town Hall building which will then be renamed the Addison Finance Building. When the Finance team relocates, utility billing operations will move to the Service Center, streamlining services for residents into one location. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ** as of 12/11/2024 the owner has selected a Construction Manager. ** https://www.addisontx.gov/News-articles/Construction-Manager-for-Addison-Conference-Centre-Remodel-Project Council Approves Construction Manager for Conference Centre Remodel The City Council approved a $247,500 contract with Gliden Industries to serve as the Construction Manager at Risk for the Addison Conference Centre Remodel Project at its November 12 meeting. This project will reconfigure the facility to accommodate additional office space, supporting the Town’s Strategic Objective to explore opportunities for expanding and consolidating Town facilities. The remodel project, with a budget of $2 million allocated in the FY25 Budget, is expected to last nine months from the start date. Gliden will oversee pre-construction planning and manage construction, ensuring that the project stays on schedule and within budget. --------------------- The Town of Addison ("Owner") has contracted with TSK Architects ("Architect") to assist the "Owner" in addressing its needs for the Addison Conference Centre Remodel Project. The Project is described as follows: Remodel the existing 13,000 SF facility to convert event space into office space and the Town's Council Chambers. Construction Services: The CMAR will serve as General Contractor to perform all work for the construction of the Project. The scope of Construction services will be determined based on the final Drawings and Specifications but may consist of one or more of the following areas of work or building components: site clearing, excavation, fill, select fill and backfill; site utilities; concrete sidewalks, curbs and gutters; asphalt paving, rough and finish grading, topsoil and seeding; chain-link fencing and gates, concrete piers, concrete slab-on-grade, concrete masonry (CMU) interior walls, cast stone lintels, limestone and plaster exterior veneer, concrete floor topping, structuralsteel frame (columns and joists), metal roof deck, metal wall and roof panels, miscellaneous metals and metal fabrications; rough and finish carpentry, millwork and casework; damp proofing and waterproofing, caulking and sealants, thermal insulation, flashing and sheet metal, metal soffit panels, metal, roofing, modified bitumen roofing; wood doors, metal doors and frames, aluminum doors and frames, glass and glazing (including security glazing), finish architectural hardware, acoustical ceilings, resilient flooring and base, carpeting, metal studs and support systems, gypsum drywall, painting and special floor coatings, interior and exterior signage; metal louvers and miscellaneous specialties; detention furnishings, equipment, security hollow metal wall and ceiling system, locks and locking systems, and security electronics; sound enhancementsystems; kitchen equipment; laundry equipment, fire protection; lightning protection; and mechanical, plumbing and electrical systems, and any other requirements set out in the Contract Documents.
