Installation of a new elevator, along with related modifications to elevator lobbies, corridors, and alterations to the Level 2 ramp and mechanical shaft. Additionally, the work includes demolition, asbestos abatement, basement excavation, underpinning, structural steel installation, rooftop cladding, and new interior finishes. Mechanical: Key mechanical work includes installing an exhaust fan for the elevator control equipment closet, sump pump, pit drainage, and waste connections. Fire protection, plumbing, HVAC systems, and building automation will also be integrated, with air balancing and commissioning to ensure proper system performance. Electrical: The electrical scope involves the installation of a new electrical feeder, breaker, and disconnect switches for the new elevator. Additional work includes relocating fire alarms, installing lighting fixtures and control devices, conducting fire alarm testing, and setting up data and telephone lines for the elevator card reader and emergency phone systems. TIMELINE: An RFP for engineering services has been awarded. design is underway. Updates may be available late spring 2025.
