The work of constructing the Winfield Pilot Travel Center Utilities Infrastructure Project will be let under one Contract. The principal items of work are detailed herein below. Principal Work: 1. Installation of Approximately 1,400 L.F. of 8" Waterline (Install Only) 2. Installation of Approximately 1,000 L.F. of 8" SDR 26 Gravity Sewer Line (Install Only) 3. Service Connections for Water and Sewer (Install Only) 4. Remove Approximately 100 L.F. of Existing 6" Carrier Pipe and Install Approximately 100 L.F. 8" Carrier Pipe Inside a 14" Casing Pipe. The Contractor is Hereby Advised That Time is of the Essence on This Project and That the Contract Time of 35 Consecutive Calendar Days and Noted Restrictions Shall Be Strictly Observed. Liquidated Damages Will Be Assessed if the Contract Time is Exceeded. The Contractor May Apply for an Extension of Time in Accordance With the Provisions of the Contract; However, Such an Extension Must Be Approved Prior to the Contract Completion Date to Avoid the Imposition of Liquidated Damages. There Will Be No Pre-bid Meeting. The successful bidder must furnish a Performance Bond for one hundred (100%) of the bid amount and a Payment Bond for one hundred (100%) percent of the bid amount, and must secure his bond from a bonding company's representative or agent in the State of Alabama. No bid may be withdrawn after the time for opening bids has passed. The Owner reserves the right to hold the bids for a period of sixty (60) days after the date of receiving Bids. **commence work the week of October 14th.
