2023-03 LS, 2024-2026 LS 1-4, LS 2-1, & LS 3-25 The work includes the following: 1. Construction of a cast-in-place triplex sanitary sewer lift station. 2. Improvements to an existing sanitary sewer lift station. 3. Bypass assembly/vaults for existing lift stations. 4. Demolition of existing lift station structures. Together with numerous related items of work, all in accordance with Plans and Specifications. Work on the improvements shall commence upon approval of the contract by the Board of Trustees, and as stated in the Notice to Proceed. Work under the Contract must be substantially complete within seven hundred and twenty (720) calendar days after receipt of Notice to Proceed and must be ready for Final Payment within seven hundred and forty (740) calendar days after Notice to Proceed. Liquidated damages for work remaining after completion dates are defined in Section 00 52 00. A bid security as defined by Iowa Code Chapter 26.8 and in the amount of not less than 5 percent of the total amount bid, drawn in favor of the Iowa Great Lakes Sanitary District, shall accompany each bid. Each successful bidder will be required to furnish a corporate surety bond in an amount equal to 100% of its contract price. Said bond shall be issued by a responsible surety and shall guarantee the faithful performance of the contract and the terms and conditions therein contained and shall guarantee the prompt payment of all material and labor, and protect and save harmless the Iowa Great Lakes Sanitary District from claims and damages of any kind caused by the operations of the contract and shall also guarantee the maintenance of the improvement caused by failures in materials and construction for a period of two years from and after acceptance of the contract. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any irregularities and informalities therein and to award the Contract to other than the lowest bidder if, in their discretion, the interest of the Owner would be best served thereby.
