The project consists of the construction of a new concrete roadway to extend Avon Commerce Parkway east to the Powermaker Ditch West in the City of Avon. The Proposed Improvement Plans for this project were designed by Bramhall Engineering and Surveying Company and were approved by the City of Avon on August 19, 2024. On September 12, 2024, Chagrin Valley Engineering added plan notes to the approved plan documents to assist in the identification of items to be constructed as part of this project. The proof rolling of the pavement subgrade, the pavement aggregate base, the concrete roadway pavement with integral 4-inch roll concrete curbs, curb underdrain, the concrete drive apron pavement, and the temporary aggregate turnaround shall be included within the extension of Avon Commerce Parkway as defined within the project plan documents and as directed by the Engineer. All utility improvements, the construction of the proposed north concrete drive aprons, and concrete sidewalk shall be completed by others and shall not be included within the scope of this project. The roadway subbase shall be compacted, set at the profile elevation and ready for aggregate base prior to the construction start date of this project. This project shall include the proof rolling of the subgrade prior to the pavement aggregate base construction. A contingency allowance has been provided for base repairs and shall require approval and acceptance by the engineer. The project typical section and the standard details are provided within the Improvement Plans. PROJECT COORDINATION The proposed roadway extension shall require careful coordination between the various City of Avon Departments (Police, Fire, EMS and Service Departments) and the contractor. The contractor shall maintain ingress and egress traffic during all phases of construction and cannot interrupt emergency services. The contractor shall be responsible to keep the site in a safe and satisfactory condition and to secure the work area at the end of each workday as determined by the Engineer. The contractor of the private developer shall not hinder the ingress/egress access to the project site. No work of the private contractor within the public right-of-way shall be permitted without the approval of the City of Avon and the acceptance of the contractor of this contract. Likewise, the contractor of this project shall not hinder the progress of the private developer.
