Your firm is invited to submit a proposal to provide general architectural and/or engineering services on an as required basis in accordance with the enclosed Specifications and General Terms and Conditions. Professional services will be needed in the following areas: - Architectural - Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Structural Engineering. PURPOSE: The Purpose and Intent of this Request for Proposal (RFP) is to solicit sealed proposals from qualified sources to establish a term contract based on hourly rates and negotiated reimbursable expenses through competitive negotiations for the acquisition of Architectural and Related Services for professional services on an "as needed" basis to New Kent County Public Schools, herein referred to as NKCPS, in accordance with the Scope of Services, terms and conditions stated herein. Firms submitting a proposal shall have the "inhouse" capability of performing these services. The services required by this RFP will enable NKCPS to provide new school facilities and renovations to existing facilities. Proposed projects consist of known and anticipated requirements of the capital improvement program These projects will be executed in accordance with local, county and state standards and requirements governing the design and development of public facilities. Services under the resultant contract(s) will be provided "as needed" for projects that may be located anywhere in New Kent County. The project fee of any single project shall not exceed $2,500,000, and the sum of all projects performed in one-year contract term shall not exceed $10,000,000 per 2.2-4303.1 of the Code of Virginia. The initial term of this contract shall be from Jan 1, 2025 to Jan 1, 2026, with the option to renew for four additional one-year periods, one year at a time, upon mutual written consent of the parties to the contract. Proposed prices shall remain firm for the initial term of the contract. Notwithstanding the foregoing, the term of the contract may expire before the date indicated if the cumulative total of project fees reaches the maximum authorized by law. New Kent County Public Schools reserves the right to accept or reject all or any part of any proposal, waive informalities and award the contract to best serve the interest of New Kent County Public Schools.
