Bids will be received for a single prime Contract. Bids shall be on a lump sum and/or unit price basis as indicated in the Bid Form Bid security shall be furnished in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders. All Bidders bidding in amounts exceeding that established by the State Licensing Board for General Contractors must be licensed under the provisions of Title 34, Chapter 8, Code of Alabama, 1975, and must show evidence of license before bidding or Bid will not be received or considered by the Owner. The Bidder shall show evidence by including its current license number during registration and clearly displaying on the outside of the sealed envelope in which the Bid is delivered. The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all Bids and to waive technical errors if, in the Owner's judgment, the best interest of the Owner will thereby be promoted. The Owner further reserves the right to negotiate price and time with the low bidder. Prospective Bidders may obtain or examine the Bidding Documents at the Issuing Office on Monday through Thursday between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and on Fridays from 8:00 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. and may obtain copies of the Bidding Documents from the Issuing Office as described below. Partial sets of Bidding Documents will not be available. Bidding Documents also may be examined at the office of City of Abbeville, City Hall, 101 E. Washington Street, Abbeville, AL 36310, on Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Printed copies of the Bidding Documents may be obtained from the Issuing Office by paying a deposit of $60.00 for each set plus shipping as applicable. Bidders who return full sets of the Bidding Documents in good condition within 10 days after receipt of Bids will receive a full refund minus shipping charges. Non-Bidders, and Bidders who obtain more than one set of the Bidding Documents, will receive a refund less the cost of printing, reproduction, handling, and distribution for documents returned in good condition within the time limit indicated above. No Bidding Documents will be issued within 72 hours of the scheduled date and time of the Bid Opening.
