This section of Shawnee Mission Parkway is 0.5 miles in length and designated as a major arterial road. The existing road is curbed and has medians separating east and westbound traffic. This project will also include a box culvert replacement on Quivira Road south of the SMP intersection and street improvements from SMP to W 64th Terrace. This project will include mill and overlay, replacement of deteriorated curb and sidewalk, pavement markings, storm drainage facilities, and other appurtenant works. This street is a CARS eligible street. This project is included in the City of Shawnee 2026-2035 Capital Improvement Program (CIP). As of August 18, 2025, information regarding a design firm and the general contractor selection timeline has not been disclosed. A firm construction timeline has not been released. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly.
