The work to be performed under this contract includes the furnishing of all labor, materials, tools and equipment for the Linda Manor and Old Florin Town Septic to Sewer Conversion (Project) located in the Rio Linda and Florin areas of Sacramento County, CA (location map shown in Drawings). The Project includes construction of the following items: Construction of approximately 9,483 linear feet of sanitary sewer gravity main Vitrified Clay Pipe (VCP) by open-cut (which includes 4,777 linear feet of 8-inch pipe for residential parcels and 418 linear feet of 8-inch pipe for the non-residential parcels in the Old Florin Town community, and 4,288 linear feet of 8-inch pipe for the residential parcels in the Linda Manor community). Construction of approximately 55 linear feet of 21-inch RCP Class III or Vitrified Clay Jacking Pipe (VCP-J) casing by bore and jack for the Old Florin Town community. Construction of approximately 94 linear feet of 16-inch SDR 14 C900 Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) and 6-inch (PVC) Air Jumper by open cut for the Linda Manor community. Construction of approximately 12,512 linear feet of 4-inch and 6-inch High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) service laterals (which includes 6,838 linear feet of 4-inch to 6-inch HDPE pipe for residential parcels and 1,197 linear feet of 6-inch HDPE pipe for non-residential parcels in the Old Florin Town community and 4,477 linear feet of 4-inch HDPE pipe for the residential parcels in the Linda Manor community). Each bid must be submitted on the bid forms provided in the Contract Documents. Each bid must also be accompanied by security in the form of a bid bond issued by a corporate surety, a certified check or cashier's check payable to the Treasurer of Sacramento County, or cash from an amount not less than ten percent (10%) of the aggregate sum of the bid. If a bid bond is utilized as the security, a current and effective power of attorney evidencing the authority of the officer, agent or representative who executed the bid bond on behalf of surety to execute, seal and deliver such bid bond. The successful bidder must be required to execute a Material and Labor Payment Bond and Performance Bond, issued by a corporate surety, acceptable to the Sacramento Area Sewer District, each for not less than one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price. Pursuant to the California Contract Code Section 22300, the contractor may, at its own expense, substitute securities for any money being withheld by the County to ensure performance under this contract. The Board reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive any formality in any bid, and to determine which bid, in the judgment of the Board, is the lowest responsive bid of a responsible bidder.
