As of October 22, 2024, this project has not yet been awarded. It will be going before the mayor and board on October 24, 2024. Supplying all labor, equipment, and materials necessary for completion of the City of Byram 2024 Sewer Lagoon Sludge Removal Project. Bidders must be qualified under Mississippi State Law and show Certificate of Responsibility issued by the Mississippi State Board of Public Contractors. The principal items of work include the following: Hydraulic dredging to remove sludge from the 1.75 acre lagoon cell, and dewatering and transfer of the sludge into geotextile bags. No disposal of dried sludge is in this contract. Each bidder must deposit with his proposal a Bid Bond or Certified Check in an amount equal to five percent of his bid, payable to the City of Byram as bid security. The successful bidder shall furnish a Performance Bond and a Payment Bond each in the amount of 100 percent of the bid. Attorneys-in-fact who sign Bid Bonds, Payment Bonds or Performance Bonds must file with each bond a certified and effective dated copy of their Power of Attorney. The work must be completed within 90 Calendar days. The contract will be subject to liquidated damages of $500.00 per calendar day. The Engineer for This Project Will Be Guest Consultants, Inc. The City of Byram reserves the right to reject any and/or all bids, to accept any bid deemed to be in the best interest of the City, and to waive informalities.
