County : New Castle County Project Description : This project includes widening the westbound SR 273 to northbound I-95 Ramp to include an additional lane to the inside. The two left turn lanes from northbound Chapman Road will be restriped to turn into the ramp lane and a choice lane. Along the I-95 ramp, the two lanes will merge together as a zipper merge. Project Justification : Intersection Improvements were identified as part of the Churchmans Crossing Study adopted in 1997. Monitoring of transportation conditions since the study was adopted has shown the continued need for transportation improvements. As of September 21, 2024, the project is in Final Planning status.
