County : New Castle County Project Description : This project includes roadway reconstruction and pedestrian and bicycle improvements along Elkton Road from the Maryland Line to Casho Mill Road. An additional travel lane will be added in each direction from Otts Chapel Road to SR4. Project Justification : The roadway surface has deteriorated and needs total reconstruction. Also capacity improvements are anticipated to be needed in future, and there are minimal accommodations for pedestrians, bicyclists, and transit users. As of September 21, 2024, the project is in Final Planning status. Anticipated Construction year is 2024. DEDOT - Elkton Road, MD Line to Casho Mill Road *Project information has been obtained through a public state transportation improvement plan (STIP). A STIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the STIP often evolves based on funding availability.
