Site work and new construction of a fire / police facility in Jonesboro, Arkansas. Conceptual plans call for the construction of a fire / police facility.
As of June 25, 2025, the City of Jonesboro is in the conceptual planning phase for its new Public Safety Center for E-911 Service, a key component of a recently approved $16 million revenue bond package. The facility is expected to enhance emergency response coordination and house modern E-911 operations. The project is currently undergoing site selection, with two locations under consideration: one adjacent to the Jonesboro Police Department on Caraway Road, and another on the 400 block of West Washington. A task force is evaluating both options with community input. An RFP for design and construction services is anticipated to be released later in 2025, with construction expected to begin in Spring 2026. The estimated cost for the Public Safety Center is $5.5 million. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly.
