The project includes intersection reconstruction, multimodal upgrades(shared use path and sidewalks)throughout the project limits, and integration of the kings highway and gills neck road master plan. Project Justification : This project was identified by sussex county and through the lewes byway committee. This project is needed to provide additional capacity to improve traffic operations and support residential and commercial development, improve multimodal transportation options throughout the corridor, and integrate the recommendations of local initiatives such as the kings highway and gills neck road master plan. As of September 19, 2024, the project is in Conceptual status. Anticipated Construction year is 2026.
