The goal of this project is to modernize the Chandler Street Pump Station, enabling it to direct wastewater from Milton to Artesian's Sussex Regional Recharge Facility (SRRF) on Route 30 for treatment and disposal. This upgrade is a critical step toward decommissioning the town's existing wastewater treatment plant. During the renovation, residents may notice construction fencing around the project site, occasional traffic disruptions when equipment or materials are delivered, and the temporary relocation of decorative items in the nearby park to prevent damage. Altogether, this project will mark a significant improvement in both infrastructure and community development. Originally constructed in the 1960s, the Chandler Street Pump Station is going to be upgraded by Artesian Wastewater Management, Inc. (AWMI) as part of the company's broader initiative to improve wastewater services for the town of Milton. These upgrades will include the installation of new pumps, updated controls, a meter vault and platform, as well as enhanced electrical services)
