Project is to replace the existing 280-ton water-cooled chiller (CH-1) located in the existing basement mechanical room of Sverdrup Hall with a new 300-ton chiller. Temporary air-cooled chiller to be provided by contractor outside of the building. The University seeks C-20 Contractors with demonstrated experience in replacement of chill water system and other major HVAC systems within an operational facility. Specific experience requirements include: chiller replacement, air handler unit replacement, use of temporary chiller and use of temporary air handling unit within an operational campus with limited construction staging area. Enter Project Duration: 396 calendar days The Contractor shall have demonstrated an average annual business revenue of at least $6,000,000 over the last five (5) consecutive years. The Contractor must have demonstrated experience on their best three (3) comparable projects with the Contractor providing services as C-20 Contractor within the last ten (10) years. At least two (2) comparable projects must be chiller replacement projects. Comparable Projects should have possessed the following construction challenges: urban site work with limited construction access and staging areas; projects requiring proactive and innovative solutions to manage noise, dust, and pedestrian traffic, especially while the building is occupied and research activities are ongoing; projects requirement to keep various equipment in operation, temporarily relocating and re-installing; addressing unknown or unforeseen field conditions during project with proactive and innovative approaches to keep the schedule on track; project complexity requiring critical path construction scheduling, tracking of multiple functions and phases to complete on time; and projects with long equipment procurement lead time. Attendance at the Prequalification Conference is mandatory for Contractors attempting to become prequalified to bid on this specific project.
