Renovation of a clubhouse / community center in Tonawanda, New York. Completed plans call for the renovation of a clubhouse / community center.

Install Generator, Transfer Switch and associated construction at 291 Ensminger This project consists of installation of the Milton CAT Outdoor Caterpillar Model DG150 Natural Gas Fueled Emergency Packaged Generator Set. Related work with other contracts: Successful Contractor will coordinate work with the Owners representative and the Solar Array contractor for the removal and reinstallation of the existing solar array system. Roofing Contractor is responsible for the support systems as indicated on the drawings for the electrical items traversing across the new roof system for the solar array, excluding the solar panels, ballast and inter connections. Items include but are not limited to electrical conduits, junction boxes, etc. at the roof surface only. Supports and attachments for the extensions of conduits etc. that traverse over the roof edges and down the existing exterior walls and beyond are the responsibility of the solar array contractor. The minimum wage rates to be paid to laborers and mechanics engaged in the construction of this project shall be the latest wage rates provided in Section BR-17 and BR-18. Minority Business Enterprise and Women Business Enterprise (MBE/WBE) In accordance with the goals of the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development, it is the policy of the Community Development Office of the Town of Tonawanda that, when possible, the opportunity should be provided for CERTIFIED Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) and Women Business Enterprise (WBE) participation in construction contracts funded in part by funds provided through the Town of Tonawanda Community Development Block Grant Program. in order to provide the opportunity for CERTIFIED MBE/WBE participation, the Community Development Office has a goal oriented affirmative action program for construction contracts. The goal for MBE/WBE participation in construction contracts has been established to be 5% expressed as a percentage of the total bid price. Contractors bidding on this contract agree to use their best efforts to award subcontracts to MBE/WBE's. The Owner/Town reserves the right to reject any or all bids for failure to comply with the requirements of the Contract Documents but may, at its discretion, waive any informalities or irregularities. The Owner/Town further reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to award a contract which, in its judgment, is in the best interest of the Owner. No bidder may withdraw his/her/its bid within ninety (90) days after the opening thereof, without forfeiting the bid security, but may withdraw same at any time prior to the opening thereof. Bidder must sign the statement of non-collusion in accordance with Chapter 751 of the Laws of the State of New York. MBE (5%), WBE (5%) Work of the Project to be completed by the Contractor for electrical work shall include all improvements to the Senior Citizens Center located at 291 Ensminger Road, Tonawanda, NY 14150 as shown on all Sheets identified with the numbers E-101 and E501 and generally described as follows: 1. Electrical Construction a. Receive and unload town purchased generator and transfer switch. b. Installation of Generator and transfer switch and all associated conduit and wiring. c. Installation of new utility C/T cabinet and new main service entrance rated fused disconnect switch, including coordination with National Grid. d. Installation of service and generator grounding. e. Coordinate with Milton Caterpillar for start-up and testing of the generator and automatic transfer switch. Milton Caterpillar start-up and testing costs were purchased by the Town. f. Installation and connection of two (2) site lighting standards, poles and fixtures to be provided by the Town. Q/A- No interpretation of the meaning of plans, specifications, or other Contract Documents will be made to any bidder orally. Every request for such interpretation shall be in writing addressed to the Nussbaumer & Clarke, Inc., 3556 Lake Shore Road, Suite 500, Buffalo, NY 14219 or via email to jzgoda@nussclarke.com. To receive consideration the request must be received at least five (5) days prior to the date fixed for the opening of bids.
