Ballardvale Public Parking Lot, Andover, MA. Estimated Cost $450,000.00. Required for DCAMM contracts over $150,000, Highway Division contracts over $50,000. SCOPE OF WORK A. When, in the opinion of the Owner, or the Engineer, public safety or convenience requires the services of police, the Engineer may direct the Contractor to provide manpower to direct traffic within the location of work under this Contract. B. When so directed, the Contractor shall make all arrangements in obtaining the manpower. All invoicesfor police details will be made to the Contractor and the Contractor shall pay all expenses incurred, including the salaries of the assigned personnel. C. The intent is to insure public safety by police direction of traffic. Police are not to serve as watchmen to protect the Contractor's equipment and materials, or to warn pedestrians ofsuch hazards as open trenches. D. Nothing contained herein shall be construed as relieving the Contractor of any of his responsibilities for protection of persons and property under the terms of the Contract. E. All paymentsto police for work under this Contractshall be in accordance with Section 34B of Chapter 149 of the General Laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts which states that reserve police officers shall receive the same prevailing wage rate as paid to regular police officers. F. The Town of Andover shall be responsible for the payment of all police details.
