reference number 0000364006 the city of louisville is accepting proposals from qualified contractors to install gates, bollards, and fencing at select open space property and trail access locations defined in the scope of work. the scope of areas included in this project span multiple open space properties throughout the city. question deadline 10/15/2024 at 3:00 pm mt questions are submitted october 30 notice to proceed, bonds, insurance, etc. november 1 final project completion december 16 each bid must be accompanied by a bid security consisting of a properly certified check, cashier's check, or bid bond, in the amount of five (5) percent of bidder's total bid price, without conditions, payable to the city of louisville. the successful bidder will be required to furnish a performance bond and a labor and material payment bond to the city of louisville each in an amount at least equal to the contract price guaranteeing faithful performance and the payment of all bills and obligations arising from the performance of the contract. the city of louisville reserves the right to reject any and all proposals, to consider alternatives, to waive any informalities and irregularities, and to re-solicit proposals. the scope of work shall include, but is not limited to the following: all fencing, posts, bollards, and gate types must match and be approved by an official city representative designated to this project. all project locations will have mandatory site visits by contractor and city approved representatives designated to this project following contract award. all project sites will correlate to exhibit a- project inventory list by location and "exhibit b"- project maps & specification. these documents will provide the specification of services requested. all measurements and site assessments are to be completed by the contractor for finalization. all bollards are to be installed to manufacturer's specification and fortified with concrete. see "exhibit b"- maps & specifications. all gate and anchor posts are to be installed to the manufacturer's specifications. there are approximately three sites that will need surface bolt mounts identified in "exhibit a"- project inventory list by location and "exhibit b"- project maps & specifications. all other sites will be installed using the sub-surface mounting style fortified with concrete. all bollards, gates, gate posts, and metal/anchor posts are to be brown in color and installed according to manufacturer specification. see "exhibit b" for more details. all bollards, gates, and gate posts are to be tested and assessed for proper functionality before project close out. all bollards must be double post hinged bollards with a double-sided lock pin and have galvanized hardware. see "exhibit b" for more details. all fencing must be installed according to specifications. see "exhibit b". all wood should be pressure treated with one of the following materials alkaline copper quaternary/ (acq), micronized copper azole/(mca), or micronized copper quaternary/(mcq) or materials of the same standard. do not use chromated copper arsenate/ (cca) treated lumber. the fence rails are to be 8' in length, wooden prefabricated round rails. the fence posts are to be 6' in height, prefabricated round rail to insert three fence rails. all fence posts are to have a minimum diameter of 6" and must be buried 2' deep at most and have an above ground minimum height of 4'. all gateposts are to have a minimum diameter of 4" and be fortified at the base with concrete. all gate posts are to be metal and standalone. there should be no more than a 4" maximum gap between any gate posts and fence end posts. fencing is to be installed in full complete sections and in alignment with gates and posts at areas that meet gates. all gates are to be brown in color and have a length of 14' per unit, with 16-gauge galvanized tubing and galvanized hardware that rotates 360 degrees (hinges & fasteners). all double gates are to be brown in color and have a length of 28' per unit, with 16-gauge galvanized tubing and galvanized hardware that rotates 360 degrees (hinges & fasteners o all gates and double gates are to be fashioned/equipped with 24" of chain to latch the gates open or closed with to anchor posts. o all anchor posts installation locations must be approved by city representative. o gates are to be level, weatherproof, and firmly fastened to prevent drooping. o all fence rail-fastening screws must be galvanized or rust proof with a hexagon head no smaller than 1& 1/2 " and no larger than 4" in length. o fence rails must be fastened into the fence posts with hexagon head screws through the backside of the fence post and into the rail. o at no point should the tip of the screws protrude out of the wood to cause a hazard. o work may include, but is not limited to demolition, staking, stationing, field engineering and problem solving, excavation, grading, drainage, earth work, shaping and forming, soil compaction, aggregate compaction, site and native seed restoration and weed control. the contractor will provide all labor, materials and equipment to complete work in accordance with plans, details and specifications - including incidental expenses. coordination of any equipment and material staging plans are to be approved prior to construction. on-site staging will be limited; however, the city and contractor will identify locations on site to access work areas stage materials as needed. coordination of a parking lot closure and public safety plan is to be approved by city staff prior to beginning construction. the contractor will be responsible for posting and updating all closure/safety signage throughout the project and communicating updates with city staff. all excavated holes for bollards must be left at surface grade.all fence, gate, and anchor post holes require 4" of soil back filled to surface grade identified in "exhibit b". remove/haul/dispose of all pre-existing and excessive materials created by installation
