The City of Cambridge would like to invite you to submit a bid for AED Cabinets for Cambridge Fire Department. Question Submission Deadline: October 2, 2024, 11:00am Bidders shall submit all inquiries regarding this bid via Electronically. The undersigned certifies that this bid is made without collusion with any other person, firm or corporation making any other bid or who otherwise would make a bid. The undersigned agrees to furnish the services in strict accordance with the bid documents, which consist of this Invitation for Bid and all attachments hereto. This bid process and the award of the contract are made in conformity with M.G.L. c. 30B, unless otherwise stated. See the below General Terms and Conditions that shall become part of any Contract awarded through this Invitation for Bid. Contractor must provide the City of Cambridge with insurance policies as stated below at the expense of the Contractor. The Insurance Certificate must be written in the name of the City as an Additional Named Insured in order to protect the interest of the City from any liability which might be incurred against it as the result of any operation of the Contractor, its subcontractors or their employees. The insurance required shall include all major divisions of coverage, and shall be on a comprehensive general basis including Premises and Operations (including X-C-U), Owner's and Contractor's Protective, Products and Completed Operations, and Owned, Non-owned, and Hired Motor Vehicles. Such insurance shall be written for not less than any limits of liability required by law or the following limits, whichever are greater. Certificates must be presented to the City at the time the contract is signed by the contractor. The Contractor and all subcontractors waive subrogation rights against the City of Cambridge for all losses. The City reserves the right, in its discretion, to extend the life of the contract at any time. 5.1. SCOPE OF SERVICES The Cambridge Fire Department intends to purchase 45 outdoor Automated External Defibrillator (AED) cabinets for the City of Cambridge's public access AED program. The cabinets are intended for outdoor locations in the City's outdoor athletic complexes. The City of Cambridge already owns 1 such cabinet, the CE-TEK 4000 and purchased this model because it is the only known outdoor cabinet which is heated. Our intention is to continue with this model to maintain standardization throughout the city, and for consistency with installation and maintenance. Cabinets must be locked and only accessible via a combination pad. Cabinets must also have capacity to hold additional medical equipment. The CE-TEK 4000 All-Weather AED Enclosure protects AEDs from direct sunlight, cold temperatures, moisture, dust, tamper, and theft while ensuring 24/7 Public Access to Defibrillation. The CE-TEK All Weather AED Enclosure boasts an IP-66 rating against dust and water intrusion. A thermostat-controlled heater inside the enclosure ensures that AED pads and emergency medication remain at safe operating temperatures regardless of the environment outside. The heater requires 110VAC power.
