Renovation of an educational facility in Syracuse, New York. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.

The State University of New York at Upstate Medical University will receive sealed bids for Project No. ---1498 Titled UH Restore Kitchen Exhaust Hood Fire Suppression The kitchen exhaust hood fire detection/suppression system at University Hospital is a singular system that currently serves a 34-foot Type 1 and a 53-foot Type 2 exhaust hood. The type 2 system will be removed in its entirety, and the type 1 system will be updated. The system currently only functions manually as the automatic component has failed. As part of this work, we plan to upgrade the system to include both manual and automatic controls. Kitchen equipment will remain in place under the existing hood during this phase. Coordinate with the owner if any kitchen equipment needs to be moved to accommodate the work. ICRA barriers and negative air machine(s) shall be provided before the start of each work shift. Work hours: all work in this phase shall be done after hours, from 7:00 pm o 4:00 am each day. Scope of work includes work required for all trades per construction documents. This includes removal and new work to bring the phase to full operational status. This project will be completed in two phases Phase 1 area of work: existing condensate hood and adjacent spaces, remove existing fire suppression system associated with existing condensate hood, and disconnect interlock between fire suppression system panel and existing electric gas solenoid valves; valves shall remain in place. Phase 2 area of work: remove the existing fire suppression system associated with the existing grease hood, provide a wet chemical fire suppression system for the grease hood, provide power to the new control panel, and provide interlock with the existing fire alarm system. Provide interlock between new and existing electric actuated gas valves with the fire suppression system, and replace mechanical gas valves with electric actuator gas valves. The system consists of fusible link detection and wet chemical suppression. Potential bidders will need to contact Honeywell regarding the scope of work for the fire alarm tie. Honeywell is our sole source provider.
