School District No. 71 (Comox Valley) wishes to retain the services of a qualified Construction Management firm to work with SD71, its Architect and sub-consultants, on the development of a new two storey 16 Classroom Addition to replace the Annex Wing (Block 3) at the Cumberland Community Elementary School (CCES), Cumberland, B.C. The project scope includes the construction of a new two storey 16 Classroom Addition 1919 (approx.) m2 to replace the Annex Wing (Block 3) at the Cumberland Community Elementary School (CCES). The existing school will be occupied throughout the new construction program. The current project schedule has construction activities starting in the summer of 2025 Phase 1 (TP1) Block 3 Demolition, and Phase 2 (TP2) New Addition beginning in Sept. 2025 and completion May 2027. The new facility is to be fully commissioned in the summer 2027 and ready to accept students for Sept. 2027. The CCES design will be based on a site-built steel frame structural system, including concrete foundation walls and slab on grade. These project deliverables and approach will be reviewed and confirmed with the successful CM once they are engaged and form part of the project team.
