Renovation of a mixed-use development in Maquoketa, Iowa. Completed plans call for the renovation of a fire / police facility.

Bidders are asked to propose the best and most cost-effective solution to meet the City's requirements while ensuring a high level of quality. The City of Maquoketa is seeking bids to replace three air conditioner units at City Hall and multiple HVAC related upgrades at the Maquoketa Police Department (see specifications). Bidders may schedule a time to visit City Hall and the Police Department personally prior to submitting a bid. CITY HALL 1.1 - AC: 6 ton cooling or substantially similar capacity 1.2 - AC: 3.5 ton cooling or substantially similar capacity 1.3 - AC: 2 ton cooling or substantially similar capacity 2. POLICE DEPARTMENT 2.1 - AC/Furnace: 75,000 input. Currently a Rheem Imperial unit. Substantially similar capacity requested. 2.2 - AC/Furnace: 125,000 input. Currently a Rheem Imperial unit. Substantially similar capacity requested. 2.3 - AC/Furnace: 125,000 input. Currently a Rheem Imperial unit. Substantially similar capacity requested. 2.4 - Replacement of fiber drop ceiling tile in PD basement common area to match. Approximately 26 x 21 feet. 2 or 3 such tiles must be grated for air return. 2.5 - Commercial grade dehumidifier with an automatic drain hose in the basement. Capacity must be able to serve at least 1,500 square feet. 2.6 - Police Department facility wide duct cleaning service. 2.7 - Exterior AC (Southeast unit): 5 ton cooling or substantially similar capacity. 2.8 - Exterior AC (Middle unit): 1.5 ton cooling or substantially similar capacity. 2.9 - Exterior AC (North unit): 4 ton cooling or substantially similar capacity. ***Bid assumes one unit will be eliminated from PD exterior on West side*** Anticipated Schedule Selection of Bidder & Contract Award: Monday, November 4 th, 2024 Work start date: Monday, November 11th, 2024 Completion date: Wednesday, April 30th, 2025 Insurance: During the term of the project, the Contractor shall maintain, at their sole expense, the following insurance policies. Even if the City has an insurance certification on file, all bids MUST be accompanied with a copy of: 1. The bidder's certificate of liability insurance with a minimum of $1 million for each occurrence and a general aggregate of $2 million. 2. Worker's Compensation as required by the laws of Iowa. The City must be given an insurance certificate that names the City as additional insured prior to the contractor's commencement of the project. 3. Comprehensive general liability and property damage with a combined single limit of not less than $1 million per each occurrence. The City must be given an insurance certificate that names the City as additional insured prior to the contractor's commencement of the project. Required bonds: Please be advised that your quote must include the cost of Performance and Payment bonds that will need to be in effect while the work is being completed. However, you do not have to actually obtain such bonds as a condition for submitting a quote. Upon the award of a contract, but before the "notice to proceed" is issued, the successful bidder must provide these bonds in a form that is acceptable to the City. The successful bidder is advised not to incur any project costs until bonds have been approved. OSHA: Contractor and all employees shall abide by all OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) regulations, and the City reserves the right to stop all work if property safety practices are not in use. Selection Criteria Staff of the City of Maquoketa will review submitted proposals and select the contractor based upon (in order of priority): o Ability to complete work in the allotted time o Cost o Quality of work / Work history o Expertise and experience The City of Maquoketa is an equal opportunity employer.
