General: Every year, The City of Maquoketa requests sealed bids for prices on the following materials: concrete, road stone, clean stone, lime, and sand products to be used by the Public Works Department for January through November of 2025. Any questions about the bidding process for these projects may be directed to the Public Works Director at 563-652-4628. Specifications: 1. All materials must be State approved. 2. Failure to meet these standards will result in a $20.00 or 20% discount, whichever is greater, off the total bill for a given project. 3. Please keep in mind that sales tax does not pertain to municipal work and should not be included in your bid. Timeline: Orders for materials will be on an as needed basis. References: Unless the bidder is already known to us, the City reserves the right not to award the contract to any bidder who does not furnish evidence of prior relevant experience and current capabilities, including manpower and equipment necessary to enable them to pursue the project and to successfully complete the work in the time allowed to complete the project(s).
