Through its Board of Trustees, the Paulding County Carnegie Library intends to contract for architectural design services in connection with the construction of a new annex/community center building on Parcel #30- 24S-019-00 & 30-24S-005-00, 119 S. Main Street, Paulding, Ohio 45879. The scope of the project is to develop an annex/community center with a meeting space large enough to seat 100-200 theater-style, a full kitchen, space for additional workplaces and storage space. We would also be utilizing classroom-style seating. At the Board of Trustees option, the selected design professional's services may include further assessments, programming, design phase services, and construction administration services, following the facilities assessment services, if authorized by the Board of Trustees in writing, in its sole discretion. However, the Board of Trustees reserves the right to enter into a separate agreement with a different design professional for such services. The library desires an architectural design that (not in order of importance): Serves as a center of learning for the community Elevates the library user experience Has the ability to perform as a community employment training center. Increases usage by the public Allows for flexible use of space Meets the project budget Ensure connectivity between the surrounding neighborhood and existing buildings Promote walk-ability with consideration of the seasons and climate, particularly provide opportunities to support pedestrian activity in all climates Considers incorporating an outdoor program space within the site's footprint into the design.
