Demolition, site work and addition to an educational facility in Victoria, British Columbia. Design plans call for the addition of a 171,135-square-foot, 17-story above grade, 240-unit, 510-bed, 120-space educational facility; for the demolition of a educational facility; and for site work for a educational facility.
University of Victoria Student housing expansion project (SHE). The proposed development will add 510 student beds through 150 single-occupancy studio units for graduate students and 90 quad-occupancy units, or 360 beds, for upper-year undergraduates. Each studio unit includes a private washroom, a compact kitchen, a bed, a desk, and a small dining table. TIMELINE: Funding is in plane and design is ongoing. UVic has held two phases of community consultations to date, sharing information and receiving input from neighbours and other interest-holders that will help shape the project. A final phase of engagement is anticipated in early Spring 2026 to share the design and provide updated information on the construction process. Tender timeline is undetermined. Construction is expected to begin late spring to early summer of 2026. Further update in early, 2026.
