Demolition, site work, paving and new construction of a civil project in Greenwich, New York. Completed plans call for the demolition of a bridge / tunnel; for the construction of a bridge / tunnel; for site work for a bridge / tunnel; for paving for a bridge / tunnel; road / highway; road / highway; and water / sewer project.

Bids will be received for the following Contract: Bid No. 2024-26 - Contract No. 1 Replacement of County Route 49 over Hopkinton Brook The work under Contract No. 1 for the Replacement of County Route 49 over Hopkinton Brook is located 0.5 miles north of the intersection of CR 49 and US 11B in the Town of Hopkinton, New York. The items of work under Contract No. 1 include, but are not necessarily limited to the following: The existing structure is approximately 15 feet long and consists of a cast-in-place concrete slab supported on stone masonry abutments. The existing crossing will be completely removed and replaced with a new bridge. The new bridge will consist of a precast concrete three-sided rigid frame supported on cast-in place foundations pinned directly to bedrock. The bridge will have a clear span of 36'-0" with a clear rise of 8'-0". Cast-in-place concrete wingwalls will be constructed to tie the stream banks into the roadway embankments. The project includes 400 LF or roadway reconstruction to tie the new bridge into the adjacent highway sections. New box beam guide rail will be installed over the structure and on the approaches. Traffic will be maintained on an off-site detour during construction. Copies of the Contract Documents may be obtained from the St. Lawrence County Purchasing Office, 48 Court Street, Canton, New York 13617. Each bid must be accompanied by security in an amount not less than five percentum (5%) of the amount of the bid in the form and subject to the conditions provided in the Information for Bidders. No Bidder may withdraw his bid within forty-five (45) days after the actual date of opening thereof. This is an exempt capital improvement project, and Bidders shall not include in their bid sales and compensating use taxes on the cost of materials which are to be incorporated into the work and which are to be separately sold by the Contractor to the County of St. Lawrence prior to incorporation into the work of the Contract. The attention of Bidders is particularly called to the requirements as to conditions of employment to be observed and minimum wage rates to be paid under the Contract. The right is reserved to waive any informalities in the Bid and to reject any or all Bids. Upon execution of the Contract including delivery of the Performance Bond, Labor & Materials Payment Bond and insurance policies and certificates by the Contractor to the Owner and the approval thereof by the Owner's attorney, the Contractor will be notified to proceed with the work. Such notification will be in the form of a letter to proceed from the Engineer. The Contractor shall give the Engineer at least five (5) days written notice of the date he intends to start work at the site. Now work will be allowed on the project until April 1, 2025. All work items of the Contracts shall be substantially completed by October 1, 2025 unless such period is extended by the Owner as provided herein. Question Deadline 10/11/2024 No verbal interpretation of the intent of any of the Contract Documents will be made before receipt of Bids. Requests for interpretations prior to receipt of Bids must be presented in writing to the St. Lawrence County Purchasing Office, 48 Court Street, Canton, New York 13617, and to be given consideration must be received by the Engineer at least five (5) days prior to the date set for the opening of Bids. Any interpretation, and any additional information or instruction will, if issued, be in the form of a written Addendum or Addenda distributed to all holders of Contract Documents by the same method that the original documents were distributed, at least five (5) days prior to the date of the opening of Bids.
