Site work, paving and outdoor lighting for a mixed-use development in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Completed plans call for outdoor lighting for a road / highway; for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot; and for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot.

MAJOR ITEMS OF WORK for this project include the following approximate quantities: 1,678 SY of 7" PCC pavement and subgrade preparation, 480 CY of excavation and grading, 1 light pole with electrical service, 100 LF of 6' chain link fencing and two 16 ft wide double swing gates. Each proposal shall be accompanied by a certified check, bid bond by a surety company registered to do business in the State of Iowa, or a certified share draft drawn on a credit union in Iowa or chartered under the laws of the United States in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the total bid price and made payable to Pottawattamie County, Iowa. The certified check, bid bond, or share draft must be included in the sealed bid envelope. Letters of credit and company or personal checks are not acceptable substitutes for a bid bond and will be cause for rejection of bid. The successful bidder will be required to furnish satisfactory performance and payment bonds in the amount of one-hundred percent (100%) of the total bid price, a certificate of insurance and a certificate of equal employment opportunity and comply with minimum wage provisions as established by the U.S. Department of Labor. The work under the proposed contract shall be completed as detailed in the Instructions to Bidders. The project is scheduled to be awarded on Oct 29, 2024. Substantial Completion shall be acheived on or before December 16, 2024. If the Contractor shall fail to do so, the Contractor agrees to pay the Owner as liquidated damages and not as a penalty, the sum of $250.00 for each and every calendar day that the Contractor is in default of substantial completion of the work under this Contract. Pottawattamie County reserves the right to reject or accept any or all bids and waive any irregularities in the interest of the County.
