Renovation of a transportation facility in Savoy, Illinois. Design plans call for the renovation of a transportation facility.

Project Description This remodeling project is intended to extend the useful life of the airport terminal by a minimum of 20 years. Most of the elements at the terminals such as the roof, escalators, elevators, exterior EIFS/building envelope, and windows are original to the building and are close to the end of their useful life which needs attention. Project Location: 11 Airport Rd, Savoy, IL 61874 Contact Information: Attention Tarun Kumar Facilities and Services - Capital Programs 1501 S. Oak Street Champaign, IL 61820 Phone: (213) 844-1165 E-Mail:tarunk2@illinois.edu The Professional Service Consultant (PSC) shall provide the planning, design, bid/award, and construction phase, and Warranty services for the U25002 Commercial Airport Terminal Rehabilitation. Planning services include completing all Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) requirements including National Environmental Policy Act submittals, and terminal project eligibility analysis and calculations per the standards of Order 5100.38D - Airport Improvement Program Handbook. The PSC will serve as the FAA liaison for the project for all architectural and engineering elements. The PSC shall make sure that they comply with all the terms and requirements as stated in Procurement and Contracting Under AIP Professional (A/E) Services Procurement and the Advisory Circular (AC 150/5100-14E - Architectural, Engineering, and Planning Consultant Services for Airport Grant Projects) from FAA. This project shall include the full replacement of two existing roof sections and concerned roof elements including installation of new lightning protection. The current exterior EIFS/building envelope is not in good condition and will need to be assessed to determine whether rehabilitation or replacement is required around whole perimeter of the terminal including the bridge connecting the two different building sections of the terminal. Rehabilitation of the EIFS at the bridge might also require replacement of the old LEDs with the new ones and installation of new access panels underneath the bridge. There are two (2) escalators (#1 & #2) that have obsolete components, and it is getting very difficult to find the components whenever any fix is required. Therefore, a full replacement of these escalators is required. An evaluation of replacement options is necessary. There are two elevators in the public area that are also old and will need to be assessed and evaluated for upgradation. These two elevators, (Elev.#1 & Elev.#3), may include more than just cab replacement. It can be overall modernization of all components associated, as found during an assessment by the elevator consultant which can include controller, machine room components, hoist way and its door equipment, fire code compliance, communication systems, hydraulic pumping unit, modifying oil line, etc., and bringing them up to current code.
