construction and renovations to the Middle School/High School building, including locker room and athletic support spaces, a multi-purpose activity space, commons, and site improvements, and to construct and renovate spaces at the elementary school, including classrooms, a secure entry and admin area, and site improvements The question we will be asking is for a General Obligation Bond to provide funds to construct, build, furnish, and equip renovations and additions to the middle/high school building, including a locker room and athletic support spaces, multipurpose activity space, commons, and site improvements; and to construct, build, furnish, and equip renovations and additions to the elementary school, including classrooms, a secure entry and administrative spaces, and site improvements. The School Board for the Highland Community School District (District) teamed with OPN to complete a full Facility Assessment of all District buildings. There are two locations that include the elementary in Riverside and the Jr/Sr High School located at 1715 Vine Avenue. The process for the planning included reviews by the administration, School Board, and Facility Advisory Committee (FAC). The FAC met five times to review, discuss, and present a recommendation to the School Board. The FAC was represented by community members, elementary and secondary educators, present and former school board members. Based on this collaborative effort, the FAC believes the plan for the bond issue was developed to best represent the needs of the District and Community for years to come Work will be based at these two locations: 1715 Vine Avenue, Riverside, Iowa, 52327 220 Schnoebelen Street, Riverside, Iowa, 52327. All CMaR submittals who have demonstrated sufficient qualifications based on the following criteria will be offered the opportunity to submit a request for proposal (RFP) to serve as CMaR on the Highland Community School District Facility Improvements: o Firm Background and Financials o Proposed Project Team o Similar Project Experience o Sustainability and Project Approach o Virtual Construction and Building Information Technology o Proposed Delivery Method and Management Processes o Safety Program o Project References Tentative Contract Award by District Board 12/17/24 11/14/24 RFP Questions Due Question Deadline 10/21/2024 Questions to RFQ due Please direct all questions to: OPN Architects Vicki Hyland, K-12 Practice Leader Vhyland@opnarchitects.com Susan Bowersox, Senior Project Architect Sbowersox@opnarchitects.com The Highland Community School District reserves the right to ultimately decide which firms are qualified to submit a proposal in the best interest of the District.
