Contractor Qualification DCAMM Certificate Required for DCAMM contracts over $150,000, Highway Division contracts over $50,000. Every request for such interpretations shall be in written form and may be emailed to: BLW Engineers, Inc. at bidding@blwengineers.com and to be given consideration, must be received no later than 12:00 noon, six (6) calendar days (Saturdays and Sundays, and legal holidays excluded) prior to the date fixed for the opening of bids. The work to be done under this contract consists of the following: 1. Thayer Public Library Roof Top Unit Replacement: a. HVAC work shall include: 1) Provide a complete system of automatic temperature controls, as shown on the Drawings and called for in this Specification. 2) The furnishing of all materials, labor, equipment and supplies and the performance of all operations to provide complete working systems, in general, to include the following items: a) Roof Top Units b) Galvanized Sheet Metal Duct System c) Duct Insulation d) Testing and Balancing of Air Systems e) Vibration Isolation f) Systems shall be complete, including all appurtenances for fully workable systems. g) Cutting and Patching h) Fire stopping i) Seismic Provisions j) Thermostats b. Plumbing work shall include: 1) Provide hangers, inserts, anchors, sleeves, plus related accessories required for a complete installation of each system specified and indicated. 2) Provide supplementary steel for piping supports. 3) Provide demolition of existing systems to be removed 4) Provide new gas piping systems and connection to meter by Gas Co. c. Electrical work shall include: 1) The furnishing of all labor, materials, equipment and incidentals necessary to provide complete electrical system as shown on the Drawings and as specified herein. The major items of work shall generally consist of: 2) Electrical Demolition: Demolition/removal of HVAC RTU's and associated existing branch circuitry. Electrical contractor shall reconnect existing branch wiring to newly installed RTU's. 3) New Electrical Work shall include roof top equipment conduits, new branch circuitry, new disconnects. The work shall generally consist of providing: 4) Raceways, Fittings and Supports 5) Wire and Cable 6) Disconnect Switches 7) Feeder Circuit Wiring and Connections for new equipment and mechanical units. 8) Grounding 9) Electrical Identification (name plates and labeling) 10) All Fees and Permits 11) Testing 12) Furnish all labor and materials to perform demolition work as shown on the Drawings and as specified hereinafter. 13) During final inspection, the electrical contractor shall be available to the mechanical and electrical engineers to open all electrical/control panels for inspectional purposes. d. Contractor and sub-contractors (if applicable) shall visit the site prior to commencement of work to coordinate work with the Town of Braintree. e. All work shall be installed in strict conformance with all applicable code requirements and manufacturer's written installation instructions. f. The General Contractor shall furnish and do everything, except as otherwise provided by specific notations herein or on the drawings, necessary to complete the work in accordance with the Plans and Project Manual. He shall furnish all plant, labor, materials, supplies, tools, water, machinery, implements, light, power, transportation, and other facilities required, and do all work necessary for the complete execution and completion of the Contract, except that work or materials specifically stated to be done or furnished by others. g. All work and materials furnished and installed shall be of the best quality and workmanship, and to the satisfaction of the Engineer. There shall be no defect in the work or the operation thereof due to inferior materials or the workman like placing of any part. The work under this contract shall be performed at such times as may be necessary to facilitate the orderly progress of the work. It is the intention of these Specifications and Plans to cover all work necessary and incidental to the completion of this project, including all trades, as shown on the drawings or specified. h. Contractor shall do all necessary cutting and patching of structural and finish work as necessary to provide the finished results shown on the Contract Drawings and as herein specified.
