Dune Restoration - Truck Haul The Town reserves the right to accept or reject any and all bids and to waive any technicalities or irregularities therein. Award will be made to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder, whose bid meets the requirements and criteria set forth in this Invitation to Bid. No bidder may withdraw their bid for a period of ninety (90) days from the date set for the opening thereof. The Town of Palm Beach is seeking competitive bids for the excavation, transport and placement of approximately 50,000 cubic yards of beach quality sand from a designated beach berm sand stockpile area in the vicinity of Phipps Ocean Park to 3 separate dune placement areas as depicted in the Construction Bid Documents. The sand stockpile will be established in conjunction with a planned Phipps beach nourishment project currently under construction. Sand from an offshore borrow area will be stockpiled by others for use by the Contractor as an elevated beach berm feature. Transport of sand will be by truck along S.R. A1A. Excavation and placement shall be by mechanical means. All material shall be handled and placed in accordance with the project Plans, Specifications, and Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) procedures. The CONTRACTOR shall provide all machinery, labor, equipment, supplies, and materials as necessary for all operations in connection with excavating, transporting, placement and grading of sand, as indicated in the following Technical Specifications and Construction Plans for this project. Potential bidders are advised that the beach fill quantity may be adjusted by the TOWN without re-negotiations of unit price or terms. An ALTERNATE BID item is included to excavate and place an additional 20,000 cubic yards of material from a berm stockpile near Palm Beach Inlet and place this material in Reach 2 (near Palm Beach Inlet). Determination of lowest responsive bidder will be calculated based on BASE BID items only. Award of the alternate bid will be solely at the discretion of the Town. If awarded, work associated with the ALTERNATE BID must be completed by March 1, 2025.
